Introduction:
Canva has been a go-to tool for creatives for a long time, providing a free online platform for creating visually appealing graphic design and video content. It is widely used by social media editors, individual creators, and even experienced video editors. With its user-friendly drag-and-drop editor, even beginners can easily add transitions, animations, designer fonts, and sound effects to their projects. In this article, we will guide you on how to incorporate voiceovers into your Canva videos to elevate your projects to the next level. Whether you are creating a tutorial, demonstrating a product, or enhancing a social media post, voiceovers can add an extra layer of interest to your production.
How to Add Voiceovers to Canva Videos:
There are two methods you can use to add voiceovers in Canva. First, you can utilize the built-in recording function to record your own voiceover for any project. Alternatively, you can upload pre-recorded audio files and seamlessly integrate them into your video timeline.
Option 1: Recording Your Script Directly in Canva:
If you have a preferred voiceover actor and want them to read the script, you can easily accomplish this within Canva without the need for additional software. However, for this step, it is important to have an external microphone as the built-in microphones of computers and headphones may not provide the desired professional quality. Additionally, find a quiet and distraction-free space for recording.
Step One: Once your project is finalized and ready, click on the three-dot menu located in the top right-hand corner. From the dropdown menu, select “Present and Record” and then choose “Start Recording.”
Step Two: A pop-up will appear, requesting permission for Canva to access your microphone for audio recording. You can skip the camera permission section since we only need an audio voiceover.
Step Three: Click the “Start” recording button and read your script aloud. As you record, you will see a waveform graphic that helps you synchronize your speech with the video. Feel free to use the “Pause” button whenever you need to take a break.
Step Four: Once your recording is finished, click on the “Done” button at the top right corner. Put on your headphones and listen back to the recording to ensure proper timing with your visuals and check for high-quality audio.
Congratulations! You have successfully added a voiceover to your Canva video.
